A
very savage comedy.
This "Dark
Comedy" doesn't work quite as well as it should,
especially considering the cast assembled. You
have Christian Slater, who already has proven
the ability to pull off this sort of film
before.
You have Jeremy Piven, also an immensely
talented actor. You also have Cameron Diaz, Jon
Favreau and even Daniel Stern in this flick. It
should have been so much better.
Still, it works on quite a few levels. The
script, however, seems to get lost shortly after
the killing starts. It sort of becomes a jumbled
mess...by the end, it's hard to care about much
of anything here. Generally, the cast is pretty
solid and the film is pretty well paced.
