Eddie Sucks.

I seem to have this "goodwill" attitude with Eddie Murphy...don't know why, because he can be quite obscene...though, of course, he's largely left that behind for the average to below family fluff.

Any semblance of good will goes out the door when I see Murphy...an actual, talented human being...offering the public crap like this film. There literally is nothing positive about this film beyond an occasional joke that works and some amusing costuming and set choices. This film is certainly not a horror film, an action film, a family film, a vampire film or even a comedy. It is not romantic...it is mostly just embarrassing for all involved, I'm sure.

Murphy co-wrote this stuff, so he has to accept much of the blame. In one of his worst decisions, Wes Craven directs this film. Ah yes, Wes, please stick to horror films. You do not have a gift for this sort of film.

There are no decent side performances here...Kadeem Hardison...awful...John Witherspoon...hilariously awful...Angela Bassett...humiliating...Joanna Cassidy...unmentionable.

This film is laced with obscenities, and racial/ethnic stereotypes. They come off as mostly sad and pathetic attempts at humor.

Whatever genre of filmmaking you enjoy, this film will be a disappointment. Eddie Murphy fans would do best to just skip this one.
