This is a
ridiculously bad film featuring surprisingly
weak performances by Tony Shalhoub and F. Murray
Abraham. Both can be quite wonderful actors,
however, I have to wonder if maybe they caught
on early in production that this film wasn't
really worth the effort.
The film features pretty cool production
qualities, but remarkably weak acting and an
amazing lack of horror or fear. Also featured
are performances by Shannon Elizabeth and Embeth
Davidtz, neither of whom do anything worth
mentioning here.
You know that you have a weak film when Matthew
Lillard appears to be the strong point in the
film...that's just plain frightening.
This film was nominated for a Saturn Award for
Best Horror Film...I'm stunned anybody would
recognize it for anything. I found it silly and
an amazing waste of my time. For production
values alone, I place it in the lower "C" range,
but in every other way it's a nearly complete
dud.
