on. Hack in.
Okay, in
honor of a friend's birthday yesterday (the
14th), I am reviewing three film's featuring
actors/actresses with birthdays yesterday.
The first, features (though not stars) Halle
Berry. Berry, who turned 38 yesterday...does not
much here beyond looking sexy (if you like
her...I don't).
The film starts off okay, but ends up as a
fairly average action thriller starring John
Travolta doing a job for a US senator, with Hugh
Jackman doing a job as a computer hacker for
Travolta. Oh, what a tangled web we weave.
The ending has a near "mini" 9/11 twist...I
doubt that impacted its box office. Who knows?
It could have just been that this film was
remarkably average in every aspect, despite
looking sort of stylish.
Jackman does alright here, and Travolta can play
villains. I suppose it's cliché
ridden...definitely a bit boring in major
places, and I got tired of the lighting...which
just seemed to be off. The soundtrack...doesn't
seem to fit the action very well, and the
dialogue is often wooden.
Okay, having just processed through the film I
guess I've figured out why it didn't work for
me.
Major Travolta, Jackman and Berry fans may find
it mildly interesting...fans of suspenseful
action thrillers will not.
