Sparkling!
With the
exception of a supporting performance by Kenneth
Branagh, I don't believe there are any actors
here you will recognize. This works perfectly
within the context of this film, it's plot and
the powerful story that is shared here.
This is a somewhat true film, and reminds us of
the rather horrid treatment afforded those of
the aboriginal background in Australia. Of
course, this very fact is controversial and
subject to dispute depending on who you speak
with...The three girls featured here give
marvelous performances, and is supported very
well by David Gulpilil, an aboriginal actor who
was featured in another incredible film,
"Walkabout."
This film is beautifully directed by Phillip
Noyce, who also directed "The Quiet American."
This is a wonderful film, with a bit of a
slow-down in the middle of the film. It's
beautifully shot, but it doesn't resonate with
me as much as "Walkabout." Still, I highly
recommend it.
