Now
I understand where "going postal" came from!
Kevin Costner
also seems to provide me with a knee-jerk
reaction in terms of rating. I really have to
like a performance to give myself permission to
go above a "C."
I can honestly say I didn't enjoy this film at
all, but I also think it was slightly better
than most of the reviews I read. It was
definitely too long and I fail to really see
where the $80 million dollar budget was even
remotely justified.
I have to say I found the script silly beyond
words, and Kevin Costner's performance
unappealing. There are some interesting side
performances here including Larenz Tate, Will
Patton, Giovanni Ribisi (in a small role),
Rocker Tom Petty (small role), Peggy Lipton and
others.
It was more fun for me picking out the cameos
than watching the actual film. I'd say that's a
bad sign!
