Harmless fun...

Rachel Weisz plays Evelyn, an oh-so proper British librarian researching the whereabouts of an ancient Egyptian tomb.  She hires Rick (Fraser), an Indiana Jones-like rogue adventurer with a penchant for overcoming insurmountable odds in extreme predicaments.

Unfortunately, upon their arrival, they unknowingly awaken an evil Mummy (Vosloo) hell bent on finding his long lost love.  When he meets Evey, he sees an opportunity to make her his forever.  But first he must perform an ancient ritual and Rick will do everything in his power to stop that from happening.

The film does get a little too childish on occasions, but I appreciated the way that it poked fun at itself and entertained me with cheesy jokes, corny romance and outrageous action sequences. "The Mummy" is not to be taken seriously at all and if you can accept it for what it is, a summer popcorn movie, you will have a good time.
