First come loves. Then comes the interrogation. |

| When I
first saw this movie, I was eating a bag of Reese's Pieces. During the
course of the movie, I nearly choked 5 times from laughing so hard. My
throat was sore afterward...literally. The ever-funny Ben Stiller
stars as a young man who visits his girlfriend's parents. But me must
face her father (Robert DeNiro) an ex-CIA agent who puts her
boyfriends through psychological torture. DeNiro and Stiller both play
off of each other and the effect is complete and utter hilarity. This
is a comedy that I can recommend to nearly everyone. It's crude, but
intelligent. It's dirty, but slick. It even has a sweet and lovable
ending that opens the door to a sequel (which was not delivered
properly). |

TC Candler's Comment
A truly
hilarious family comedy. Stiller and De Niro
play extraordinarily well opposite each other.
The entire cast has many funny moments. This is
the kind of comedy you can watch over and over
again.
Richard Propes' Comment
I've always known that DeNiro could pull off
comedy, but this pairing with Ben Stiller was
brilliant. There's something about an outlandish
comedy like this one...with this underlying "bad
experiences with the parents" theme that just
makes you believe it could really happen. I also
tend to go for films with both Stiller and Owen
Wilson...they have a chemistry together that
radiates through their joint scenes. I also
thought Teri Polo did a wonderful job. This film
makes me laugh after multiple viewings, a
surefire way of rating any favorite comedy.
