A-
Frances O'Connor is a revelation!
If you love movies like Emma & Sense and
Sensibility... then this film is for you.
This is easily the best Jane Austen novel ever
committed to celluloid. Frances O'Connor is a
star in the making. She stars in a humorous and
touching tale of a young girl sent by her
impoverished family to live a 'better life' with
aristocracy. The film does take liberties with
the original story, but if anything, they make
for a better film. The cinematography is
reminiscent of a painting by Claude Monet, the
script is witty and moving, and the direction is
superb.
