If you replace Heather Graham and Bridget Moynahan
with two less charming and less gorgeous actresses, "Gray Matters"
may not be worth a spot in your gray matter's memory bank. |
| |
| "Gray Matters" is a
moderately entertaining romantic comedy triangle about a brother
(Tom Cavanagh) and sister (Heather Graham) who both fall head over
heels for the same woman (Bridget Moynahan). The basic premise
is pretty routine, but the lesbian themed twist allows for some
fresh material. This is by no means a great film. It is
merely a light-hearted comedic romp with two of the sexiest women on
the planet prancing around New York City in sexy designer clothes.
Sometimes, these paint-by-numbers rom-coms are hideous wastes of
time that serve only as popcorn facilitators. Each year, a
couple of dozen such efforts hit the big screen -- only a handful
exude enough charm to earn a passing grade -- and we are lucky if
one of them rises to the "Harry / Sally" level. The
Graham-Moynahan partnership barely squeaks past the approval
threshold. |
