If this movie
wasn't already aiming so low, I'd be tempted to
put it in the "D" range...Truly, I can't imagine
too many children finding this film entertaining
beyond the cuteness of the poorly trained dogs
featured in the film.
"Good Boy!" is an 87 minute feature film that
still feels too long as we journey through dogs
from the planet Sirius...and, well, the plotline
is so lame that I just can't bear the thought of
repeating it. Suffice it to say it is stupid.
The film features former SNL'ers and regular
"straight to video'ers" Molly Shannon and Kevin
Nealon in sleepwalk performances as the parents
of a son who basically can communicate with the
dogs. All the performances here are sub-par,
with none of the child actors exhibiting any
appeal at all.
The dogs? okay, they are cute...admittedly, but
they also don't really do anything special in
this film. Quite honestly, even the stunts...a
feature of any film such as this...are plain
simple.
In short, this is a sub-par children's film that
will appeal only to massive dog lovers.
