Richard Propes' Review

D

Did Sharon Stone really think she was going to remake Oscar history with this film? Why on Earth would they remake a remarkable film like "Gloria?" What has happened to Sidney Lumet? There simply is no justification for this film...it adds nothing to the original, it makes no different statement, it has no additional quality that somehow explains why it needed to be made. It's simply a stunningly poorly acted, awfully written and inadequately directed remake of a classic film. Stone was nominated for a Razzie award for her performance in this 2000 flick. My only beef is that she didn't win it.
