Nope... Didn't Buy It!
This
train wreck of a movie is composed primarily of
scenes with gay British actors prancing around
trying to act hard and tough. The overt and
failed attempt to be a new 'Clockwork Orange',
'Reservoir Dogs' and 'Lock Stock & Two Smoking
Barrels' amalgam is an embarrassing example of
the new wave of British films we've seen
recently... the Brits just can't pull off this
hyper-cool gangster vibe... quite frankly it's
laughable watching them try. I suggest they go
back to making quiet and dainty tea-party /
period-piece movies starring Emma Thompson and
Anthony Hopkins... at least they're pretty good
at that.
Gangster No.1 is a joke... it evokes about as
much fear and terror as a Merchant Ivory
production.
This thing stinks so bad that it should have
been called Gangster No.2
