Richard Propes' Review

A-

This film by Julien Temple is a phenomenal look at the Sex Pistols. I just marveled at the in-depth interviews Temple obtained for this film. I mean, I've never seen Johnny Rotten do much more than snarl at folks, yet Temple has obtained meaningful interviews with the surviving Sex Pistols and has in-depth footage from Sid Vicious. It's just an amazing film. It's insightful, powerful, perfectly edited, masterfully directed. The film also serves to remind me what a lame punk I was with my 5 earrings, purple hair, tattoos and pseudo punk rock. There have certainly been other punk rock bands, but none have matched the filth and the fury of the Sex Pistols.
