A+
Can they be stopped?
The
second greatest low budget horror film (right behind "The Texas
Chainsaw Massacre). A group of college students head out to a cabin in
the woods only to discover the book of the Dead, which then turns
their trip into a living hell when they turn into demons and start
hacking each other to pieces.
Director Sam Raimi (who has now gone mainstream and big budget with
"Spider-Man") seems to realize perfectly that he is working with a
small film and he uses it to his advantage. Every possible advantage
is taken in filming. Every creepy thing that already existed about the
cabin is put to good use.
It's all good, bloody fun, but it is not for the squeamish or those
who are easily offended (those who have seen the film know what scene
I am talking about...).
