Only huge fans of Kimberly Williams and Emmanuelle Beart, like me,
should bother seeking this DVD out -- and even then, it isn't really
worth it.
This is a messy
ensemble romantic comedy set in London. The cast has a few
highlights that spark hope in the viewer... Emmanuelle Beart,
Kimberly Williams and Sean Gallagher are all very good in this
utterly cluttered story that tries very hard to say something
meaningful about relationships.
The intertwining romances are all rather weightless, never allowing
the audience to truly care about who ends up with who. The one
romance that does click between Williams and Gallagher fizzles
fairly quickly and is resigned to a loose thread.
One gets the impression this film was directed and edited by a first
timer trying to imitate better films. This is a dismissible
rom-com... hardly any romance... a handful of mild chuckles...
gorgeous eye-candy in the form of Williams and Beart... and not much
of anything else.
