There are
very few films I watch repeatedly. There are
even fewer films that inspire me repeatedly.
"Defending Your Life" has entertained, inspired
and nurtured me since its debut in 1991. I loved
the script, and the chemistry between Meryl
Streep and Albert Brooks was wonderful. Streep,
in 1991, was largely known for her dramatic
roles. In this film, she seemed to take great
delight in having a role that allowed her to
relax and laugh a little. Brooks seemed to
inhabit this character dealing with his past and
learning to confront his fear. This film has
aged well and climbs higher on my list all the
time!
