Bigger. Smarter. Faster. Meaner. |

Surprisingly entertaining, funny, and engaging. Although very corny,
the movie makes up for that with pure energy, great special effects,
and some very exciting action.
A research installation creates an ultra-smart Mako shark so they can
use the brain tissues to find a cure for Alzheimer's. Things go wrong,
the sharks get loose, and the humans find themselves hunted.
The witty script takes every cliché, presents it to us, and then
snatches it away and tears it in half. During almost every scene, you
guess how that scene will end because you've seen it all before.
Therefore it's wonderful to see something entirely different happen.
Great fun, but by no means a groundbreaking or magnificent film. |

Tons of
fun.
Richard Propes' Comment
Yep, This
one may qualify as a slightly guilty pleasure.
It certainly qualified as unexpectedly
enjoyable. Occasionally, director Renny Harlin
really gets it right. Plus, I loved seeing LL
Cool J and Samuel L. Jackson in the same film.
