Lost
in French nation...
Two
American brothers, one black and one white,
travel to France to take ownership of their
newly inherited castle, which comes with its own
moat and servant staff. The language barrier,
the culture clash, some sexual tension between
the brothers and a maid, and a few well hidden
secrets make 'The Chateau' one of the most
entertaining films of the year.
Shot on an extremely low budget on digital film,
this goofy romp has a way of making you chuckle
all the way to its surprisingly poignant
conclusion. Paul Rudd and Romany Malco generate
some extreme hilarity and Sylvie Testud gives a
subtly moving performance.
This is a great rental for all those who weren't
in proximity to the 4 theatres that played the
movie during its limited theatrical run. It is a
comic gem!
