In the Company of Women...
I really liked the interaction between the two
female leads... both of them add great acting to
a witty script. Stiles and Channing are
mesmerizing!
One of the characters says... 'Take away my job,
and what's left?'
Another says... 'Your best friend is your
secretary... How pathetic is that?'
This film is a brutal and stark look at the
desperation and loneliness of the business
world. The hospital whites of cloned airports
and cold hotels sets the tone for this
intriguing and insightful battle of wills. Julia
Stiles gives a stunning performance as she locks
horns with an equally powerful Stockard Channing
in a movie that will make you realize the
futility and pointlessness of a corporate life.
I have to
agree with TC on this one. The strength of this
film lies in Stettner's focused, cohesive script
and the performances of Stiles and Channing. I'm
still hoping we see more great work out of
Stiles. This is one of those late night indie
flicks that I just love to rent.
