It is
actually quite
difficult to compile a
list like this.
Sure, there are tons
of websites out there
with billions of
rumored projects and
possible
collaborations.
Even IMDb, the
internet movie bible,
has way too much
superfluous material.
It becomes tough to
wade through all the
muck.

So, as I tend to do
nearing the close of
each year, I have
started to gather in
all the information
for the upcoming
calendar year on all
the most promising and
highest profile film
projects that should
be hitting our silver
screens.
Some of these listings
are very early.
Names may change.
Stars may be replaced.
Nothing is ever set in
stone in Hollywood.
However, I have done a
lot of the hard work
for you already.
Here is a list of all
the films that will
likely be made
available to American
audiences in 2007...
I have split them up
into four sections...
The
Top 10 Most Intriguing
Films of 2007

Rest of My Most

Joe Wright directed
Keira Knightley in
the best film of
2005, "Pride &
Prejudice".
They collaborate
again in this
intriguing film.
A WWII espionage
drama starring
Carice Van Houten --
I was fortunate
enough to see this
film at the London
Film Festival in
October of 2006.
You can read my
glowing four-star
review
here.
The first one was an
espionage
masterpiece.
The second was a
worthy sequel.
I love this
franchise. It is
fresher and more
exciting than
anything else in the
genre.
I just get the
feeling that this
will be the most
romantic film of
2007. I love
the premise, but I
adore Amanda Peet.
This is a sleeper!
Quentin Tarantino
and Robert Rodriguez
each direct one half
of this movie, with
fake trailers during
the intermission.
Spectacular!
Great director -
Great cast,
including Nicole
Kidman -- This
sci-fi thriller
looks like it can't
miss.
I love the Die Hard
series. I just
wish they'd
reconsider the name.
This ensemble piece
has been atop my
most anticipated for
years now. It
took that long to
get all twenty
pieces shot and
assembled into a
film. Just go
to the IMDb to see
all the talent
involved with this
one!
Keira Knightley in a
dark love story
about a French
silkworm merchant
who travels to Japan
and begins having an
affair with a
Nobleman's
concubine, leaving
his faithful wife
alone in war-torn
France.
This is easily one
of the most
anticipated of the
year. Rose
Byrne stars in what
might end up being a
real sci-fi gem.

Stephen King story
about a mysterious
hotel room. Great
cast!
This is a risky
project about a
prehistoric hunter
on a mission to save
his tribe. Big hit
or big miss!
The tagline -- He
has 88 minutes to
solve a murder...
His own!!!
Okay, so it has been
done before... but
Pacino headlines a
nice cast and the
early buzz is good.
Paz Vega is in this
film. Nuff
said. Filming
has yet to begin, so
consider this only a
50/50 shot to hit
screens by December
2007.
An all star cast in
a comedy about
average Joes trying
to make their own
adult film.
Early word is that
it may only get a
minor release and an
early DVD launch.
Ridley Scott directs
a hall of fame cast
of actors in this
1970's drug
smuggling epic.
Kenneth Branagh is
the modern master of
Shakespearean film.
Bryce Dallas Howard
exercises those
magnificent acting
chops with this
superb material.
Long release delays
and an unproven
director are making
me suspicious... I
am not sure how much
longer this will be
on my list.
Some massive names
have signed on to
Zemeckis' fantasy
adventure. It
is bold risk to
grapple this
familiar and classic
tale.
Samuel L. Jackson
with more mutha-fuckin'
snakes???
Christina Ricci also
signs on in this
pulp-film.
This might fly under
the radar.
Based on a true
story of FBI
espionage and
secrets sold to the
Russians.
I would be a tad
surprised if this
manages to get a
release in 2007.
2008 seems more
likely for this
ensemble selection
of talent.
Andrea Corr
continues to impress
as an actress with
wonderful turns in
"The Boys & Girl
From County Clare" &
"The Bridge".
She co-stars with
elegant beauty,
Saffron Burrows in
this suspenseful
nightmarish story.
Lindsay Lohan &
Jared Leto star in
this story about the
infamous John Lennon
assassin.
A Mike Nichols drama
based on a Texas
congressman Charlie
Wilson's (Hanks)
covert dealings in
Afghanistan.
Does Monica Bellucci
ever disappoint?
One of the best
actresses of our
time stars in this
mysterious story.
Cronenberg directing
Naomi Watts and
Viggo Mortensen --
It sounds promising!
In an attempt to
recover from his
marriage to Rita
Hayworth and restart
his career, Orson
Welles travels to
Italy...only to be
drawn into a
dangerous web of
intrigue, murder and
politics when an
actor is murdered on
his set. Chris
Walken and Paz Vega
star.
I am on board for
any film that will
make fun of the LOTR
geeks and Star
Wars/Trek fanatics.
This could be a gem.
An assistant DA is
caught up in a game
of cat and mouse
with a man who tried
to murder his wife
and is set free on
technicalities.
Ryan Gosling, Tony
Hopkins & Rosamund
Pike!!!
Shekar Kapur
directed Cate
Blanchett in the
magnificent 1998
film, "Elizabeth" --
This is essentially
the companion piece
to that.
Who knows where this
entry in the series
will go without any
of the original
players. I am
intrigued, but leery
too.
Daniel Craig, Nicole
Kidman & Eva Green
star in this fantasy
thriller.
Two straight, single
Philadelphia
firefighters (Adam
Sandler & Kevin
James) pretend to be
a gay couple in
order to receive
domestic partner
benefits.
Chris Rock and
Samantha Ivers star
in this comedy about
a married man who
daydreams about
being with other
women.
This might end up
being a spring time
sleeper. It is
a romantic comedy
starring one of the
great up and coming
talents in
Hollywood, Kristen
Stewart. Look
for this to do well.
Directed by Sean
Penn and starring
Vince Vaughn, Marcia
Gay Harden & Kristen
Stewart, this
Alaskan-set drama
may be a critical
success but not a
box office one.
An Irishman living
in the Australian
town of Jindabyne,
is on a fishing trip
with three other men
when they discover
the body of a
murdered girl.
Rather than return
to the town
immediately, they
continue fishing and
report their
gruesome find days
later.
A team of U.S.
government agents is
sent to investigate
the bombing of an
American facility in
the Middle East.
The film stars Jamie
Foxx and Jennifer
Garner.
A romantic comedy
about a young guy
who finds out he
impregnated his one
night stand.
Hot commodity,
Katherine Heigl
co-stars with Leslie
Mann and Paul Rudd.
Marion Cotillard as
Edith Piaff in a
biopic that is
getting superb early
buzz.
Cotillard may get
some Oscar
consideration for
this role if she can
pull it off. I
am sure she will be
great.
A delusional young
guy strikes up an
unconventional
relationship with a
doll he finds on the
Internet.
Patricia Clarkson,
Ryan Gosling, Emily
Mortimer & Kelli
Garner.
The second Iwo Jima
film from Clint
Eastwood in as many
years, following on
the heels of "Flags
of Our Fathers"
Being a poker
player, I am
hopeful. But
release delays are
not looking good and
the trailer was
really a bomb.
Jon Heder, of
Napoleon Dynamite
fame, stars with
Diane Keaton and
Anna Faris in this
comedy about a
twenty-nine year-old
slacker who lives
with his mom
realizes his sweet
set-up is threatened
when she hears
wedding bells with
her self-help guru
beau.
A young woman (Anna
Paquin) witnesses a
bus accident, and is
caught up in the
aftermath, where the
question of whether
or not it was
intentional affects
many people's lives.
Matt Damon & Jean
Reno co-star.
Kristen Stewart
stars in this
thriller about an
ominous darkness
that invades a
seemingly serene
sunflower farm in
North Dakota.
Based on the tragic
true events -
Marianne Pearl
(Angelina Jolie)
embarks on a frantic
search to locate her
journalist husband,
Daniel, when he goes
missing in Pakistan.
A New York attorney
(George Clooney)
learns that after 15
years of cleaning up
his high profile
clients problems,
they can come back
to haunt you, in
what will be the
last and worst days
of his career.
Natalie Portman
films are always
high on my list. She
plays Molly, the
awkward and insecure
manager of Mr.
Magorium's Wonder
Emporium, the
strangest toy store
in the world. But
when Mr. Magorium,
the 243 year-old
eccentric owner
(Dustin Hoffman),
bequeaths the store
to her, a dark and
ominous change
begins to take over
the once remarkable
Emporium.
A young woman (Norah
Jones) takes a
soul-searching
journey across
America to resolve
her questions about
love while
encountering a
series of offbeat
characters along the
way. Natalie
Portman, Jude Law,
Rachel Weisz & Ed
Harris are all in
this film!!!
Also known as
"Napoleon et moi" or
"Napoleon and Me"...
this comedy stars
the irreplaceable
Monica Bellucci and
the grizzly veteran
of French cinema,
Daniel Auteuil
A college student
(Scarlett Johansson)
goes to work as a
nanny for a rich New
York family.
Ensconced in their
home, she has to
juggle their
dysfunction, her
studies, a new
romance, and the
spoiled brat in her
charge. Laura
Linney and Paul
Giamatti co-star.
A man who can see
into his own future
has to avoid capture
by a government
organization and win
the love of a woman
who will be the
mother of his child
-- Nic Cage,
Julianne Moore &
Jessica Biel star.
Looks good!
Jim Carrey plays a
man who becomes
utterly obsessed
with the number 23.
He sees it in every
single aspect of his
life and it plays
tricks on his mind.
The cool gang
returns once again
to pull off more
daring capers.
Most of the stars
return.
A comedy starring
Vince Vaughn and Don
Cheadle as two
thieves who return
to their Midwestern
hometown and face
their past
wrong-doings.
Loved the first.
Frustrated by the
middle chapter.
I hope the third
ends it properly.
Stallone directs an
Edgar Allen Poe
biopic?
This is a must-see.
A family of New York
City police officers
is torn apart by a
corruption scandal.
Ed Norton, Jennifer
Ehle & Colin
Farrell.
A CIA thriller about
the hunt for a girl
in the 10 days
leading up to
September 11th, 2001
starring Juliette
Binoche.
A French drama set
amidst the dramatic
events of May '68
starring Louis
Garrel & Clotilde
Hesme.
A man (Adam Sandler)
who lost his family
in the September 11
attack on New York
City runs into his
old college roommate
(Don Cheadle).
Rekindling the
friendship is the
one thing that
appears able to help
the man recover from
his grief.
Two families becomes
intertwined when the
father from one
kills the son of the
other in a
hit-and-run.
Joaquin Phoenix and
Jennifer Connelly
star in this
promising thriller.
I consider the first
two guilty
pleasures. I
only wish that
Sienna Guillory was
playing Alice again.
Without her, it will
be less fun.
This French thriller
tells the story of a
group of youngsters
who exit a disco
late one night and
accidentally run
into a shepherd who
has prepared himself
for a night of
Satanic worship.
A man named Mr.
Smith (Clive Owen)
delivers a woman's
(Monica Bellucci)
baby during a
shootout, and is
then called upon to
protect the newborn
from the army of
gunmen.
A marksman (Mark
Wahlberg) living in
exile is coaxed back
into action after
learning of a plot
to kill the
president.
Ultimately
double-crossed and
framed for the
attempt, he goes on
the run to track the
real killer and find
out who exactly set
him up, and why.
Michael Moore wields
his camera again...
This time focusing
on the ridiculous
state of the health
care system in the
USA.
When a Las Vegas
performer-turned-snitch
decides to turn
state's evidence and
testify against the
mob, it seems that a
whole lot of people
would like to make
sure he's no longer
breathing.
Southland Tales is
an ensemble piece
set in the
futuristic landscape
of Los Angeles on
July 4, 2008, as it
stands on the brink
of social, economic
and environmental
disaster. The
Rock - Sarah
Michelle Gellar -
Mandy Moore
An ex-fighter pilot
rids the world of
spies, assassins,
and other vermin
with his suped-up
Interceptor car.
Starring The Rock.
I think that this is
almost certainly
being delayed until 2008.
In a countryside
town bordering on a
magical land, a
young man makes a
promise to his
beloved that he'll
retrieve a fallen
star by venturing
into the magical
realm. Sienna
Miller - Robert De
Niro - Michelle
Pfeiffer
A send-up of
superhero films,
from Batman Begins
to Fantastic Four...
This is still in the
planning stages and
may not make 2007.
Roberto Benigni
stars in this 2006
film that may not
make it to the USA
in theatres.
It might go straight
to video.
The FBI hunts down a
serial killer who
posts images of his
victims on the
Internet.
Diane Lane stars in
a film that might be
pushed to 2008.
This sounds like a
fantastic thriller,
starring Kate
Beckinsale, about a
young married couple
that becomes
stranded at an
isolated motel and
finds hidden video
cameras in their
room. They realize
that unless they
escape, they'll be
the next victims of
a snuff film
