YOUR BIG BREAK
IN LDS CINEMA?

"Kirby Heyborne: Mormon In Drag Or Just Fine Actor?"
A Scene From Heyborne's Latest Film "Pirates of the Great Salt Lake"

A Richard Propes Column

September 26, 2006

As many of you know, I'm a huge fan of LDS (Latter Day Saint) Cinema. Films such as "The R.M.," The Singles Ward," and "God's Army" are wonderful examples of a growing body of work from today's Christian film-makers across a wide variety of denominations. Well, if you're like me you find yourself saying "Man, I wish I could be in an LDS film." Now you can!

Singled Out, LLC has announced an open casting call for video auditions to be submitted in consideration for the upcoming feature film, "Another Singles Ward."

"Another Singles Ward" is the follow-up to 2002's "The Singles Ward," a break-out film for LDS Cinema that also made Kirby Heyborne one of LDS Cinema's first break-out stars. In "Another Singles Ward," a new cast of characters' lives intertwine with one another in humorous, touching and unexpected ways.

The film is being directed by John Lyde. Lyde is producing the film along with Jed Ivie and Scott Champion from a screenplay by Champion. Dave Hunter and Kurt Hale, producers of the original "The Singles Ward," will serve as Executive Producers.

Those who wish to be considered for a role can mail a video audition to Singled Out, LLC at:

5132 N. 300 West
Provo, UT 84604

All submissions must be postmarked by October 7, 2006. Character descriptions may be downloaded at "Another Singles Ward." You MUST follow these submission guidelines:

  1. Submissions must be submitted on VHS, DVD, MiniDV or Hi-8.
  2. Submissions should be no longer than five minutes in length.
  3. Please wear modest clothing in your submission video.
  4. At the beginning of the video state your name, contact information and which parts you will be auditioning for.
  5. Include your headshot (or photo)/acting resume/contact information along with your video.
  6. All submissions become the property of Singled Out, LLC. Singled Out, LLC reserves the right to use submissions at its discretion. Submissions will not be returned.
  7. If you wish to audition for more than one role, include all auditions on the same video. Do NOT send additional submissions for each part. (You may, however, send a copy of your submission video as backup.
  8. You will be contacted if the producers wish for you to come to audition in person. Singled Out, LLC will not compensate for any travel or accommodation costs.
  9. Send inquiries to anothersinglesward@yahoo.com. No phone calls or walk-ins please!

Best of luck to all of you! Please be sure to contact IndependentCritics should you be cast in "Another Singles Ward" or if you'd just like to share your experience with the rest of us!
